Firefighters rescue mountain lion from tree

A very, very large cat was spared from a tree close to a house in California following it was seen by the homeowner officials say.

US firefighters arrived in the home in San Bernardino following the mountain lion – or cougar – had been seen perched on a branch about 50ft (15m) high.

The creature was tranquillised and reduced and the region was fastened to the floor.

It had been released back to the wild following an examination by biologists.

“It is typical for young mountain lions to roam out what some might consider ordinary habitat in an effort to set up their land,” explained Kevin Brennan, a biologist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Rick Fischer, the section’s warden, stated that extracting the creature would have been hard had afternoon not turned up .

Leaving the lion at the tree wouldn’t have been secure for the neighborhood¬†,” Mr Fischer included in a statement published on the San Bernardino County Fire Facebook account.

Cougars, also called pumas, panthers or mountain lions, are members of this cat family that is crazy. They reside from British Columbia to Argentina, across the Americas.

Mountain lion attacks on humans are rare. In North America, by way of instance, fewer than a dozen deaths are listed in over a hundred years, based on statistics supplied by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW).

Before this month, a mountain lion was killed by a guy running on a park trail from the hills of Colorado after he was pounced upon by it from behind.
